Oberiss Alpine Farm stands at 1,750 m in the Pinnstal Valley, one of the most beautiful and quiet side valleys of the Stubaital. The location in the shadow of the distinctive Kalkkögel mountain range makes the farm a special destination – here begins the rugged Dolomite area of the western Stubaital, and the view of the steep limestone walls of the Kalkkögel is impressive.
Location and Atmosphere
The Pinnstal Valley is less well-known than the Main Stubaital, but is hardly less appealing in terms of landscape. Oberiss Alpine Farm is located in the rear part of this valley, at a height that allows for a wide view. The Kalkkögel in the west are the dominant feature of the panorama – jagged Dolomite summits that distinguish themselves from the other Stubaier Alps.
The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly. The Pinnstal Valley has fewer day-trippers than the Main Valley – this gives Oberiss a pleasant calm, especially during the week.
Cuisine
The farm offers a combination of fresh alpine products and hearty dishes. Alpine cheese, bacon, fresh bread, soups, and warm Tyrolean dishes are on the menu. For children, there are simple and hearty dishes available. The sun deck with a view of the Kalkkögel is the best seat.
Arrival / Ascent
Access to the Pinnstal Valley from Neustift im Stubaital. From the parking lot at Pinnisalm, a marked hiking trail leads to Oberiss, ca. 1.5 to 2 hours. The terrain is varied, not technically difficult, and suitable for families.

- Families: The farm is child-friendly
- Kalkkögel View: For the best view of the Kalkkögel, come in the afternoon when the light comes from the west
