Oberiss Alpine Farm

Oberiss Alpine Farm stands at 1,750 m in the Oberbergtal, one of the most beautiful and quiet side valleys of the Stubaital, accessible via Neustift/Milders. The location offers a wide view of the Kalkkögel to the west – the sight of the steep limestone walls is impressive even from here.

Location and Atmosphere

The Oberbergtal is one of the quietest side valleys of the Stubaital and the starting point for hikes to the Franz-Senn-Hütte. Oberiss Alpine Farm lies on the valley floor, conveniently accessible by car, yet still offers a wide view of the surrounding mountains.

The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly. The Oberbergtal has fewer day-trippers than the main valley – this gives Oberiss a pleasant calm, especially during the week.

Cuisine

The farm offers a combination of fresh alpine products and hearty dishes. Alpine cheese, bacon, fresh bread, soups, and warm Tyrolean dishes are on the menu. For children, there are simple and hearty dishes available. The sun deck with a view of the Kalkkögel is the best seat.

Arrival / Ascent

Access to the Oberbergtal is from Neustift/Milders. Oberiss Alpine Farm has its own paid parking lot directly on site, so it can be reached by car without a lengthy approach on foot.

Combination Options

• Franz-Senn-Hütte (2,147 m): From the parking lot at Oberiss, the trail continues into the Oberbergtal to the Franz-Senn-Hütte (approx. 1.5 hrs)
• Vordere Sommerwand, Rinnenspitze, Aperer Turm, Ruderhofspitze: Summit destinations at the head of the Oberbergtal for experienced mountaineers
