Stubaital with Kids
The Stubaital is a paradise for families — flat valley walks, easy alpine trails and staffed huts with Tyrolean snacks await you.
Tips for Families
- 🕗Start early: Mornings are quieter and parking spots still available. Afternoon thunderstorms can develop quickly.
- 👟Sturdy footwear: Even on easy trails, proper hiking shoes are recommended — paths can be slippery after rain.
- 🥪Plan a hut stop: Staffed huts offer Tyrolean snacks, Kaiserschmarrn and drinks. Children are warmly welcome everywhere.
- 🌊Ruetz river: The stream along the valley floor is a favourite playground for kids — bring a change of clothes!
- 🚃Public transport: The Stubaitalbahn from Innsbruck (55 min) or the Stubaital bus bring you directly into the valley.
