Dresdner Hütte

Dresdner Hütte is located at 2,308 m directly at the Stubai Glacier – to be precise, at the mountain station of the Stubai Glacier cable car. This makes it the easiest-to-reach high-altitude hut in the Stubai Valley: With the gondola in about 15 minutes from the valley station Mutterberg to 2,308 m.

Location and Character

The hut is located in the heart of the Stubai Glacier area, surrounded by:

• Zuckerhütl (3,507 m) – highest peak of the Stubai Alps
• Wilder Pfaff (3,458 m)
• Schaufelspitze (3,333 m)
• Sulzenau Glacier – Glacier right in front of the hut door

Operated year-round (glacier skiing in winter), in the summer a starting point for high-altitude tours and glacier hiking.

• Glacier Hike on the Stubai Glacier (recommended with a guide)
• Zuckerhütl (3,507 m) – challenging high-altitude tour, glacier crossing, only for experienced climbers
• Schaufelspitze (3,333 m) – also high-altitude tour, alpine experience required
• Connection to Sulzenau Hut – Descent into Sulzenau Valley, part of Stubai High Trail

Snack and Stay

Fully serviced, kitchen and bar. The Dresdner Hütte is one of the few huts that is also open in winter – ski tourists and high-altitude climbers share the hut.

In the summer: reservation for overnight stays is highly recommended.
