Neustift im Stubaital – the Starting Point

Neustift im Stubaital lies at approx. 1,000 m altitude and is the main village of the Stubaital – about 30 km south of Innsbruck. From here all major hiking destinations are directly accessible: the Elferhütte (2,080 m) by gondola or on foot, the Pinnistal with Pinnisalm, Neue Regensburger Hütte and Innsbrucker Hütte.

The village of Neustift is characterised by its impressive church tower, the Stubai mountain backdrop and the Serles (2,718 m) as the eastern guardian. In summer Neustift is a hiking village, in winter a ski mecca – but the Stubaital in summer is the better Stubaital.

From Neustift most tours start into the Pinnistal (quiet, family-friendly) and to the Elferhütte (gondola or 2h ascent, 360° panorama). Both are a must.
