MTB Klamperberg: challenging bike tour up the Klamperberg, 9.6 km, 641 m of altitude gain – starting from Freizeitzentrum Stubay in Neustift, with panoramic views into the Stubai Valley.

The MTB Klamperberg is one of the more demanding bike mountains in the Stubai Valley – not yet as well known as the big tours around Neustift, but appreciated by locals and repeat visitors for its steepness, compact trail length, and beautiful views into the valley. The Freizeitzentrum Stubay in Neustift as the starting point offers parking and infrastructure right at the start.

Why this tour?

The Klamperberg lies on the sunny side of the Stubai Valley. What makes it special: the tour takes you through a mix of forest, alpine meadows, and open terrain, without hours of pedaling through monotonous coniferous forest. The steepness makes the nearly 3 hours demanding.

641 meters of altitude gain over 9.6 kilometers is a challenging tour: compact, but with a noticeable gradient. For bikers with good fitness and some experience.

Trail description

Start at Freizeitzentrum Stubay, Neustift: Good parking directly at the start. From the Freizeitzentrum, follow the path towards the Klamperberg, initially on a farm track at the edge of the village.

Lower forest section: The forest track climbs through mixed forest. Between the trees, the view occasionally opens up to the opposite side of the valley with the Elfer and the Schlick 2000.

Alpine meadow zone: The forest gives way to open alpine meadows. In early summer, alpine flowers bloom here, and in summer, cows graze. The path becomes steeper in places.

Klamperberg summit (approx. 1,840 m): The highest point of the tour offers a panoramic view over the Stubai Valley. A rest bench is available – ideal for a break with a snack.

Descent: Back to Neustift on the same forest track. Because of the steepness, the descent requires a fair amount of riding skill.
