The Forest Animal Path Gleins is a short but fine nature trail in the Schönberg-Miederer area. At 2.9 km it leads through the mountain forest from Schönberg, with information stations about the local forest animals of the Stubaital – from deer and fox to woodpecker and golden eagle.
Why the Forest Animal Path?
This path is ideal for families with children in school age: short enough so no one protests, and informative enough so it’s not just a “stroll.” The wooden boards at the stations are child-friendly and explain in a vivid way which animals live in the forest – and where to find them.
Dogs are allowed, but should be leashed as the path passes close to wildlife reserves.
