Stubai Bike Trail 19 is the official valley bike trail through the Stubai Valley – and at the same time the perfect introduction to the Stubai Valley for families, beginners, and everyone who wants to enjoy the valley without great exertion. From Schönberg in the north, the trail leads gently downhill to Falbeson near Neustift, where the Stubai Valley unfolds its alpine character in full.
Why this route?
Stubai Bike Trail 19 is no coincidence, but a designated, well-marked bike trail that explores the entire Stubai Valley. The trail signage with the route number 19 is evident throughout, so you’ll hardly get lost. The route mainly runs on secondary roads and quiet side roads away from main roads – ideal for children who still cannot gauge the tempo of car traffic.
The elevation gain is evenly distributed over the entire trail length, which means: there are no steep ramps, but a continuous, gentle ascent of about 600 m in elevation at Schönberg to around 1,000 m at Falbeson. This is also manageable with a normal trekking bike or children’s bike.
Trail description
Start Schönberg (approx. 600 m): The starting point is located at the northern entrance of the Stubai Valley. A parking lot on the edge of the village provides enough space for families with bike trailers. From here, follow the signage Radroute 19 downhill.
Mieders and Telfes (approx. km 5–10): The route runs through the two charming villages of Mieders and Telfes, where you can take a first break. Along the way, the gaze falls on the Serles – the prominent rock peak that towers over the southern Stubai Valley.
Fulpmes (approx. km 12): In the largest town of the Stubai Valley, a longer break is worth it. The village center of Fulpmes has a lively market square with cafes and bakeries. Here, you can also charge up E-Bike batteries (charging station available).
Neustift (approx. km 17): The heart of the Stubai Valley. The village center invites you to drop in, and those who want to can visit the Stubay leisure center with its outdoor pool – ideal for a cool-down after the tour.
Falbeson (approx. km 24, ca. 980 m): At the end of the trail lies Falbeson, a small hamlet above Neustift, from which the valley opens up to the south towards the Mutterbergalm. Here, you can organize a return journey with the Stubaitaler Bus or take the same route back in a relaxed manner.
