Galtalm

Galtalm at 1,680 m is one of the genuine, down-to-earth alps in Stubaital. No fuss, no show – just good food, a peaceful atmosphere, and the feeling of sitting in an authentic working alp.

Location and Atmosphere

The Galtalm is situated in a sunny hillside in the middle of Stubaital. The alp’s terrain is varied: meadows, heath-covered slopes, and an open view into the valley. The cattle graze in the surrounding area – the Galtalm is still an active agricultural business, not a museum piece.

The atmosphere is calm and familiar. People come here on recommendation – not because it’s in every travel guide.

Cuisine

What’s produced on the alp is served on the Galtalm: fresh cheese, butter, milk. The cheese platter is the centerpiece of the menu, complemented by soups and baked goods. Children can enjoy simple dishes.

Access / Ascent

Accessible via marked paths from the mid-valley villages of Stubaital, ascent takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Suitable for well-equipped families.
