Neue Regensburger Hütte

The Neue Regensburger Hütte at 2,286 m is the highest accessible hut in the Falbesoner Tal – and a quiet starting point for some of the most beautiful high-altitude tours in the Stubaital. High above the Falbesoner Ochsenalm, on a broad alpine meadow with a view of the surrounding high mountains, this DAV hut of the Regensburg section is a calmer counterpart to the Franz-Senn-Hütte in the Oberbergtal.

Location and Atmosphere

The Falbesoner Tal is one of the quieter valleys in the Stubaital – and the Neue Regensburger Hütte lies in its upper part, at a spot where the valley widens and the view of the surrounding summits unfolds. The hut is located off the main high-altitude routes and is therefore less frequented than Sulzenau or Franz-Senn.

Anyone who arrives here has really finished the ascent – and that’s something you feel. The peace in the evening, when the day’s guests have descended, is the best argument for an overnight stay.

Cuisine

Classic hut food: soups, main courses, bread and cheese platter, Kaiserschmarrn. Half board for overnight guests. The kitchen is solid and geared towards hiking guests – no surprises, but no disappointments either.

Accommodation

50 beds in mattress bunks – a smaller hut that is popular with groups and families with mountain experience. Prior registration under +43 664 2025070 is recommended. The capacity is limited, the experience is accordingly personal.

Approach / Ascent

From Waldcafé Falbeson (approx. 1,220 m): The standard ascent leads via Falbeson and the Falbesoner Ochsenalm, then steeper uphill to the hut – approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, approx. 1,066 meters in altitude.

Tip: The Falbesoner Ochsenalm is a good halfway point. Those who start early can make a stop there and ascend to the hut relaxed.

Combination Possibilities

• Falbesoner Ochsenalm: Good stopover on the ascent from Falbeson.
• Franz-Senn-Hütte: Crossing option for experienced mountaineers.

Tips

• Early start: Be at the Waldcafé Falbeson by 8 am at the latest.
• Summit Tours: Only start in the morning, plan for weather changes in the afternoon.
• Equipment: Hiking boots, rain and cold protection, sufficient water.
• Best Time: August and early September – all trails snow-free.

The Neue Regensburger Hütte is for those who want to get to know the Falbesoner Tal without landing in the glacier-tourism machinery of the southern Stubaital. Here, the Stubaital is still original.
